What academic options do I have as an Exchange student?
Exchange students may participate in Directed Research, the ExpressO service to submit articles for publication, Cross-Registration, Writing Credit, and various Human Rights opportunities.
When will I receive my official transcript, or how can I request a copy of my transcript?
You will want to contact the Office of Records and Registration to see when official transcripts will be administered or to request a copy of your transcript.
Can I transfer credits that I have taken as an exchange student into a J.D. or LL.M. degree?
Please review the Transfer Credit policy. If you are receiving credit for the courses you are taking now at your home institution, then no, you will be unable to transfer them back into a J.D. or LL.M. degree here.
If I drop a course, will a WD show up on my transcript?
Students who withdraw from a course by the last day of the semester will not have a WD noted on their transcript, as stated in the Student Handbook under "Grades and Academic Standards."
How can I audit a course?
With the permission of the instructor and subject to such conditions as the instructor may impose, a student may audit a course. Courses that are closed (filled) may not be audited. Auditing courses is considered "unofficial," and students: 1) do not enroll in those courses, 2) do not take examinations in those courses, and 3) do not write papers for those courses. Audited courses do not appear on the student's transcript.
