The following are resources for students who would like to improve their English writing and/or speaking skills.
These courses generally meet for twelve to fifteen weeks and cost approximately $400-500 each. No academic credit is awarded for many of these courses (i.e., Advanced Grammar Review, or Effective Writing Skills).
The department has a writing center open to anyone in the University, which is free and offers one-on-one appointments to work on mechanical issues and argumentation strategies. They have instructors and tutors who are specially trained to work with foreign students.
This program is very similar to our ALI program. It is available to law students; however, students must pay for the courses, which range from $1200-3000 per course.
They offer advanced writing, accent reduction, and speaking/listening courses for approximately $450 each. Some courses begin mid-semester.
