Dissertation Committee
The dissertation advisor must be a full-time member of the NYU School of Law faculty, including full-time adjuncts. The faculty director of the program is responsible for identifying advisors, although applicants may take initiatives to locate an appropriate advisor. Before the end of the first year in J.S.D. residence, the advisor must confirm in writing his or her intent to advise the student through the end of the process. Before the end of the second year in J.S.D. residence, the candidate must identify two additional faculty members who will serve as the other members of the dissertation committee.
