Biographical Information

Arnold Enker is Professor of Law and Founding Dean of the Yaacov Herzog Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan University.  He was formerly Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota and Lecturer at the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies in Austria.  He operates the Institute for Research in Comparative Law at Bar-Ilan University.

In addition to having been the Gruss Professor in Talmudic Civil Law, Professor Enker has been a visiting professor at the following institutions: Duke University, Hebrew University, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University.

Professor Enker has published many articles in English and Hebrew, as well as a number of books in both languages. Most recently, he was Editor-in-Chief, with Sinai Deutsch, of Studies in Jewish Law and Halacha published by Bar-Ilan University in 1999.
